due to insurance issues, it is cheaper for me to insure a ph1 172 (dunno why :S) by a considerable amount. so im on the lookout while i get some no claims up...

so can someone tell me what this is truely worth as im more of a mk2 ph2 guy

I'm 99% sure this was the one i was interested in 6 months ago, im sure i recognise the reg.

I was interested until i saw the pics though, looked like it had been raped by an 18 wheeler, stickers, chav LED's etc, some w**k wolfrace wheels.

But looks tidy enough now, just go over it with a fine tooth comb!

Its not had belts done but the man said his wife worked at a dealership and "the lads" sort her car out if there is anything she needs. Would have thought they would have serviced it for her.

boosh, try bell insurance just as a check as when i was on the look for an 172 there quotes where the cheapest by fare.

i know shroom... i found cheeper on money supermarket with kwick fit and there shite.

will do some hunting nearer the time but just wanted to buy the car now, get it lookin how i want it, ready for march. id be happy to pay 1800 to insure it as imo thatts reasonable...

Looks quite nice, however, out of the 3 cars i've ever bought from birmingham, 100% were pups.

I even get customers coming from Brum buying cars down here saying even they wouldn't buy from Brum! lol.

However, it is worht a look as the car sounds like a good one.

Just sent him an email as i cant see his number that basically says can you confirm ALL the belts have been done as appropriate and how debateable is the 3k price.

just been upfront and said to him im not some pikey expecting to pay peanuts for the car i do however want to pay a fair price.

hi mate, we have receipts for the belt changes, the car needs nothing doing, you are welcome to send someone round to check as i'm sure this will be the cleanest phase one he would of come across, the price is a fair price for a sunflower yellow phase one in this condition but i will take a close offer, if you need anymore info please feel free, 0******* for a faster responce.

If he still says no I'd offer him 2800 and say you've borrowed a 100 quid off you mum.

id be happy to pay 2800 as its a rare colour and below average milage. gives me 200 then to give it another full service and an MOT (something iv always done when buying another car just in case)
