can i make one good key out of 2 naff ones? plus ebay key?

basically, one of my keys doesn't open the car, but starts it ( i think, will double check that ) its not the battery either, and the other key which works fine, has now been bent, caught it in the house door when closing it so before it snaps off and i left with 2 shite keys, can i swap the inside of the bent key into the straght key? to make one good one?

is it also possible to buy a spare key off ebay and get it recoded to my car? if so how much will it cost to recode?

Just remove the transponder (circuit board bit the battery is attached to - just pulls out) and put in the other key with the not bent bit.

Bill it's the same pretty much as mk1 keys - I did that, bought nice new fobs and swapped all the bits around

If you find a good auto electrician they will have the tools. I would be able to do it for you if you were local. You would still need to get the blade shaped to your old key though.
