CAn i use a 3inch backing plate on a 4inch pad?

As title or do i need a 3 1/2 inch plate

i use 3.5 inch backing plate on my 4 inch pads, but i dont think half an inch will make that much difference lol

Yeah as long as the pad is firmly secured will be fine mate.
