Can someone help me on this damage report

  Clio, mr2 turbo & R6
Hey

I am considering a new project car, I have been buying accident damaged cars for the past 18 months or so, repairing them and selling them bar one or two which I have used myself

anyway I have found a Clio, it's a fairway from me so I sent a company over who filed a vehicle and damage report. Over all the car is good, body is good apart from a dent in the hood, 2003 model, 50k and 2 owners from new

anyway the car has hit a kerb by the looks of things, the damage report reads

All of this is N/S damage

Track rod end
Steering rack control arm
Front suspension leg
One wheel
Drivers side seat airbag deployed

anyhow i could not figure out what the suspension leg is?

I my initial thoughts was the shock bit after I got on the phone the guy I spoke to also could not make any sense of the report either

I am unfamiliar with the Clio suspensions set up on clios so was hoping maybe someone on here would be able to spread some light on it? Most of them are obvious, I just can not figure what a suspension leg or a steering track control arm is?

Sorry guys!

Sorry! Also put it in the wrong section! Sorry guys

the car is just a base model 2003 Clio 1.2 or something I think.

Steering rack control arm: Track rod end

Suspension leg: Wishbone/bottom arm.

Those are both guesses mind!!

I though wishbone or some form of LCA which would make sense. The track rod end is listed seperatley so I sort of ruled that out as another option for the control arm. I was possibly thinking some form of drop link or Arb component?

Could mean the strut!

Initialy I thought this. I called the guy up and asked him to which he said "not a clue mate, your guess is as good as mine, it could be but then again it might not"

I am taking this as worst case scinario which again won't me to troublesome to replace

issue is I am super worried that they mean the suspension mounting point on the shell is bent, that is not suck a easy thing to work with

Guessing it means the suspension strut, as the wheel is damaged that'd make sense. It's bad you've paid for a report and they can't explain it you properly.

I hope you are right! Although my worry is to cause damage to the strut it must have been a bloody hard wack! And to damage a strut it must have caused more damage than that listed. Either way I agree, considering a payed for this report I would have fared better looking into a crystal ball!

my guess is leg - strut, tca - bottom arm. it needs some new bits, anyway!

agreed, I am just hoping the damage is confined to bolt on replaceable parts

Track rod end ---------- end coming out of steering rack
Steering rack control arm---------- wishbone/lower arm
Front suspension leg ------------- Strut
One wheel
Drivers side seat airbag deployed

It'll need a knuckle and a hub assembly.

I've bent a strut and that was the only damage to the car.
ah interesting, i bent the one on my old GTi and bent the lower mounting section of the wish bone to the chassis.

Wow that is brilliant, makes total sense now! It was just the wishbone nd shock that was stumping me.

Thanks for clearing tht up for me.

be aware it could have damaged the subframe too as a bent wishbone, track rod and a strut= fairly big impact with a curb.

that is a worry of mine matt, thinking of giving it a miss because its not a part i particuly want to replace.
