can someone identify this?

Hi, I have a 172 ph2 and just realised this problem, seems that oil is leaking from somewhere and there appears to be a plug of some kind missing, the area is just under the front end of the car, bottom of the engine/gearbox?
I will try and upload some pictures.

Nothing missing there.

Pretty normal the leak as they all do it from the selector seal. Then spreads everywhere:(

picture on the right looks like there is a slight weep from the sump or rocker cover and making its way down.

Best thing to do is clean it all up the best you can and monitor your oil levels and see where its coming from exactly.

Selector seal is as it sounds a seal where the shaft goes up through the box housing and selects gears..There is no quick or temporay fix and every one leaks.

If you search TND selctor seal there is an external repair, but ive had two now and it still leaks. ChePer just to monitor it and buy gear oil. Plus it always looks worse than it actully is.

:)
