use the stock battery if you relocated it to the boot.. or do i need to use a red top?

Yeh, just make sure you use big enough cable to overcome the distance between the boot and front.

Cant see why there'd be a problem using the stock mate.

From what ive heard, red tops dont hold their charge very well, most that use them carry jump leads just in case...

I've got a stock battery in the boot. Fred mentioned before that the smaller batteries dont hold their charge.

not sturdy enough, anything rolls around in your boot and it'll smash.

Any rally supply shop will sell ally ones.

also make sure its of the type you can fit a vent pipe to, they have a little plastic pipe fitting on the side, connect a bit of pipe to it and drill a hole in the boot floor to vent it outside the car

mark.. did you find the cup racer airbox set up helped in anyway or gained any power?

would you recomend it?

I think I might have to get me one of those.

I dont really have a direct comparison. Theoretically you have a straighter inlet and you can put an open filter away from the engine and radiator so reducing temps.

If your going to move your battery you might as well do something similar IMO.
