Canon EOS 400d SLR

  SLK 350
It's a camera Steve, unfortunately I don't own one, but I do knows its a digital camera, 400 million mega-pixel I think.

  1.6 16v
no its not! :) lol

Its 10.1mega pixel

Was thinking about getting Canon 350d but i found 400d so was wondering if anyone has got one and if they are any good! :)

Has

  RS 182 - Black Gold
The 400D is the 350D replacement.

There are some goood bargains about. If the 350D is anything to go by the 400 will be superb :D

Also if you don't just want Canon, the Nikon D50's a good SLR as well, not as many megapixels, only 6 meg but its over £100 cheaper than the 400D and has got top reviews, oh and I just got one ;)

I am seriously thinking about getting a 400D. £480 for the kit was the cheapest I found, anyone else know anywhere cheaper?

Has

  RS 182 - Black Gold
^^ Thats about the cheapest ive seen with the standard lense.

Amazon i think it was...

Pixmania have some good package deals, but i would never buy from that company ever again!!

Worst customer service ever! and expect you to return the item to France!

(btw: all there stock is from Europe so may need adaptors and manuals downloading)

Yeah it was £480 from Amazon - but comes from Pixmania!

So I assume that means a French manual and they usually give you an adapter for the plug for free.

Trouble is with a point and shoot I can live with a French manual but a DSLR is another matter....

If the 400D is 400 million pixels, then the 350D has gotta be 350 million pixels - shouldbe plenty enough for printing to A4 paper even.

Was thinking of putting a 100 million pixel camera in my K750i, cause the 2 million pixel isn't enough. Anybody know the easiest way of doing this?

FANKS!

^^^^ are you having a laugh?

as far as the 400d goes, my girlfriend does photography at uni and got the 400d about a month ago, i have been using it for all sorts e.g car shows etc.

absolutely amazing camera, so many different things achievable with it.

it is as said the 350d replacement, theres not much difference tbh, a friend has the 350d, the only major things are mp (resolution), and the screen is much bigger on the 400d.

as far as megapixels (mp) are concerned the bigger the number is not always the best for what you want, by this i mean the more mp's you have the bigger you are able to blow the picture up to and the clearer the resolution is.

the lower and obviously the lower the resloution but you can still print to a4 with 4/5/6mp.

i would definately recommend this camera as it is superb, im a novice and with half an hour of messing around i was getting all sorts of different effects.

TOYPOP- pixmania have a store in london so might be lucky e.g it'll be an english manual.

if not canon etc have pdf versions on the net ;)

I've got a 350d amonst others. The 350d is superb. If you haven't got another dslr, go for the 400d. The 350d is a great camera tho. The improvements aren't worth an upgrade for me at the moment tho.:)

So Clio 1.6 16v a 400 megapixel camera might not me as good as a 300 megapixel camera? If that because of the plastics they use and the toxic effect on the lense quality? Or is it down to the way the shutter moves backwards and forwards?

  Clio 197
I've got the 350D (8 Mega Pixel)

My 350D produces great prints when I print them on A3, so the 400D (10 mega pixel) should be fine!

One problem I've had with the 350D is dirt getting on the CCD sensor.. but the 400D has a self-cleaning facility, so I'd go for it!

Got an English version from Amazon for £480 with the kit lens.

Just set it up and took a few pics of my parents in auto mode and it is bloody brilliant! My point and shoot always produced really crap noisy images with poor white balance and loads of red eye when taking photos indoors under artificial light but this 400D is absolutely spot on!

Dpreview moaned about the auto white balance but it guessed it perfect and the images are huge and completely noise free. Pity it can't take movies but you can't have it all! No complaints about the kit lens to be honest, very impressed with how wide it goes.
