Can't connect wirelessly

I have a basic Dell home laptop and PS3 which both connect to my Buffalo Airstation faultlessly. They just recognise it straight away.

I also have a work laptop SZ5 Vaio. I brought it home and it doesn't see my wireless yet it sees neighbours and others in range.

I had the Dell and the Vaio next to each other and kept refreshing the networks. Each time they would pick up identical networks except the Vaio wouldn't have mine on it.

How would I go about that? Surely it would need to appear first.

Just do a manual connect and specify the SSID yourself.. no you don't have to be able to see it.
