Can't seem to find any 175/60/R14

All,

I need new rear tyres on my Clio. Called into a couple of places today and was told the tyre size was perculiar and they didn't have any in stock and said I'd probably struggle to get a decent budget tyre. Its a 2000 Clio 1.4s and the tyres are 175/60/R14.

Don't have the cash for expensive tyres at the moment so was looking for something budget. Can I change the tyres to 175/65 which places seemed to have loads of?

175's? that is weird.

Steelies are supposed to have 165/65/14's, alloys i think are supposed to be a 185 width.

My 2002 1.2 16v had 195/65/R14's on it im sure it did.

Thats strange your running them...i´ve only heard of that size being on mk1 RSI alloys...it is an odd kind of profile though anyway.

I wouldn´t go for 175/65s TBH as this will increase your rolling circumferance and affect performance....185/55/14´s are reasonably common though and will improve acceleration without looking odd.

All four running the 175/60. I got the spare changed recently cos it was flat and he's put a 175/65 on that wheel. The car does have the alloys which are the same as on this car...

So what tyres should be on these wheels then?

The 175/60 sounds about right to me for your car...same as mk1 RSI wheels and typical renault...fit an odd size as standard.

175/65 generally get put on instead of the 60´s as they´re cheaper and approximately the same size.
