Car  Yozza'd Titanium 182
Had a go in the passenger seat of a ph1 172 and couldn't belive it...
I was expecting it to be like a rocket!

I have a 1.6 16v and there was baerly ANYTHING in it except after 5000 revs on the sport it did pull a little...

Any opinions??

Not been in either so can't comment.

Although I would have though PH1 would have been considerable quicker a 1.6 to be honest.

Maybe the car you were driven in was a bad example?

So you can drive them from the passenger seat?!!! You learn something new every day. f**k knows why Renault even bothered with a 2.0 16v if a 1.6 is the same

^^^ lol good answer.

Come meet me in bala wales, and i'll show you what an RS is all about.

The 2.0l badges gives u more bhp, so i would've thought ur car is just as fast as a 172 anyway

No, but come on, its in a different league than a 1.6. Maybe i should upgrade to one ;)?

And there was me thinking a ph1 172 was the best thing since sliced bread :rasp:

On first impression they may seem very similar but have one and learn how to drive it and you will soon learn there is a world of difference between the two. This is speaking from experience btw, felt the same thing initially with the speed.

I'd imagine that until the 2.0's hit 5k, the 1.6 could probably keep pace tbh.

But between 5k and 7k, it would pull away quite well.

I had a go in a spartan but with a nice fleck pattern rear seat in a 1.2RN expecting to be really slow, but it actually felt no different to a 1.6 16v Clio with a 2.0 badge on it!
