Car abandoned :( (No not a red polo)

I had to abandon my car this morning the snow where I live is riddiclulously deep and mostly country lanes. Anyway on my way to work trying to get up this hill barely touching the go pedal in 2/3rd gear for traction managed to get a bit of a run up 1/4 .. 2/4... keep going 3/4 way up the hill stopped dead then slid backwards haha. The snow built up behind my car so much I couldnt reverse it out and I couldnt go forwards. Basically wheels spinning in any gear no one about to help either.

Car is still sitting at the side of that hill. I walked home and cycled to work. And I fell off that too !

Dam dude. That's proper gay. I remeber walking to work once as the bus couoldn't get though the snow. I was about 2 hours late. most people in my situation just rang in and took it as emergency leave but because i'd made the effort i had to make the time up.

No snow darn sarf yet

Absolutely hammering with snow here, couple of hairy moments in the Clio but had no choice but to drive it really

I didn't even bother today. Took my daughter to school in her sledge and then took the wife's heavy diesel Verso to work, no probs. Don't think a lightweight Clio on F1s and a heavy clutch would be ideal.

Plus the wife's is a lease car so should the worst happen...... :rasp:

ive went to work got stuck in the cup a few times, i drive a 7tonne wagon for a living doing deliverys i phoned all the customers and said al be there tomorrow am going home, im not prepared to risk killing sum1 in a truck!

I did think about taking a picture but I couldn't be arsed taking off my gloves to dig my phone out my pocket in -2 when it was thumping down with snow !

Not looking forward to the slushy cycle home along the canal

where did you get stuck ol chap?

should of seen it up here, i live on the main bus route and it was not gritted at all
also spent about 1hr helping the neighbour did out his new 5 series he only made it 10 ft from his drive flol
i did take the clio up into bramhope this evening but only got stuck aswell had to get my mate to tow me out with his landy :S

i know somebody who called the AA becasue she thought the ABS was her car falling apart.

my boss didnt get to work becasue he couldnt get his car out of his drive, but only becasue he didnt know how to turn the traction control off and it was just killing the engine
