car alarm faulty need help please

left work unlocked my car ( 172 cup ) using the remote locking button opened the door and the alarm went off so i shut the door and then i couldnt turn off the alarm and it just kept going off.
after a while it did stop but the key fob stopped working so i couldnt get into the car because the alarm kept going off every time i open the door.
kept trying the key fob but no luck so i went back into work and put a new battery in it but to no avail.
i had to take my work van home and leave my car in a very dodgy car park at night so i am a bit worried about it as you might amagine.
can any body help as i dont want to leave it there all night to get vandalised.

i had this prob with my key fob the way i got over it was to re sync the remote to the car, by holding in the central locking button in the car and holding the button on the key. it worked on my car so it should on yours

how long did you have to hold the buttons down mate

5 to 10 sec i pressed the button in the car first and keep my finger on it then pressed the button on my key and keep it pressed till the doors unlocked then locked again, got out the car pressed the key button and it locked my car i started a post on this have a look:

bad luck mate it worked for me is your battery ok try replaceing it and try it again

nice glad to hear that was it the battery or just needed to keep the buttons held for longer?

battery on the car was low where the alarm had been going off so it wasnt quite working so i got a jump pack on it.
