car cleaning

Both very good, Ive just been using a load of sonus stuff abd used megs before. Choose the colour you like the most lol!

You can get Megs from quite a few places over here, including Halfords, without having to pay for international shipping, dont know about the Sonus though.

As for colour, what about the smell ;)

Cheers guys, i assumed it must be fairl good for them to put on their site.

It just seems to be a bit cheaper than the megs stuff on their.

As im looking at maybe getting the PC polisher, and lots of stuff to go with it.

Will need a bit of research to decide what polishes and waxes i need though.

As i want to restore some paintwork which is swirl marked to hell, a few minor scratches, and i also want to restore some very dull paint on another car.

Im hoping to start my own valet business soon, so want to get this stuff and have a few pratice goes before i attempt it on someone elses car.

for what your doing you need megs #83, and megs #80, top it off with nxt and your done, all those are available from alex at serious performance

you may need a proper orbital polisher to do really heavy work, but they are very aggresive to use

Still say zaino is the best of them all.
A lot of people do as an LSP!

As for polishing the sonus sytem is similer in agresivness to the megs system. AUtopia dont sell crap so any system will do.

A great man once said" A man with experience has nothing to fear from a man with an opinion"! You cant beat experience so f**k it try both.

what about mothers....spoke to a valeter who swore by it
mothers is good, i got a full set of it, but at the moment its megs #83 and #80, then NXT, the other thing is some waxes/polishes work differntly on different paints, theres also the preperation and the towels etc you use that has a big impact on your finish, in fact get the preperation wrong and it doesnt matter what you put on you car it will never look right

Mothers is very alike to the Meguiars commecial stuff we get over here.

Not used any Sonus bits, but I think I will be going for the Poorboys SSR range off polishes when I get my PC. Very user friendly and can be used in the sun or shade.

Thanks for the replies people

I knew 182_blue would post (im surprised you didnt post a picture! lol)

Like i say, the cars im going to be practicing on dont matter to much. Its more so i can get the idea of how things are done, and if they come up well then they can be used as adverts.

As for the right cloths etc, i will be buying all the good stuff, i currently use microfibre luxury cloths which i got from QD at a pound a go, so obviously i will be buying some decent ones, and i will also be reading up on the HOW TO guides on autopia, as they seem to be excellent, and have already cleared up how i use a clay bar.
