as the car is now sorn and won't be driven for 3 months it is open to the elements.

i have received a car cover and am thinking about tucking it up, any preperation i should look at for it or just make sure its nice and clean and dry before it goes under?

Make sure it is a decent cover as long term under a cheap one will be worse than no cover at all.

I know you're a one-armed bum bandit at the moment mate, but would it be better off just to give it a quick wash every week or two? If it's not being driven then it'll just need the dust washing off and the engine fired up to keep from cobwebs settling...?

please tell more. I might need one soon. Recommend any? Especially any that don't blow away like my last 1?

Cheap covers let water in and not back out, take a cheap cover of after few days and you will see what I mean. I have a couple of cheap covers I use for overnight purposes, would not use them for more than a few days.

As Rich said cheap ones can damage paint work by rubbing against panels & edges of bodywork wear its tight + let water / moisture in.

Gazeebo from Argoose FTW !

opened this fully up the other day, seems to be made of similar material to a rain jacket/coat, nice and light....

Well i got one from argos spent about £30 or so, i got a very large piece of chamois to cover the car and tuck the edges in to the side of the car then use like a cloth brace to clip it from side to side under the car.
I put the argos cover over the car on top of the chamois and fasten'd that down aswell.
Yea if you have water on the car in any gaps it will stink after a while.
I left my car in 3 days of screaming sunshine and polished it and wax'd it.
Then i put the covers back on an left it for a week when it rained for 3 days. Took the covers off an not a single smell ir drop of water on the car.
Left it for 2 weeks an same again, nothing. its been on for over a month now and i think it is fine, ill check tomorrow and let you know.
