Car Goes In For Air Con Tomorrow

I am hopefully going to get my aircon fixed tomorrow at Reg Vardy Middlesbrough. There is a big problem though. I am 4,000 miles over my service. My 36k service, i'm just hoping they don't say anything and they just assume its been done, if they ask i'll just say it got done by a local renault approved garage in portsmouth.

Im going to get my 36k service done at rentech sometime after the 24th July. So i will probably be 5,000 miles over it.

Do you think they will mention anything?

I hope so mike, as they don't even check the aircon do they on their service. Well they probably would check that it works and thats about it.

They said it will cost about £500 to get a new air con fitted if its Stone chipped.

And to just look at it, it will cost me £140. Wheather its stone chipped or not.

that's what i thought but nope, he said it would be £140 to just look at it. I couldn't even be bothered to argue, i just said ok, i'll pick my car up now. He rang my brother first my brother had to give him my number even though i told the man to contact my mobile.

Just had my Mrs scenic regassed, £65 + VAT............the machine tests system for leaks by holding negative pressure for say 2 mins.
If your system has leaked there may be signs ala green dye........
This should be done every 2 years..................the longer you leave it the more probs you may get as with everything some good some bad................

This is because the ac rad is in front of main rad................ala stone damage ( £500 seems way steep, compressor may cost that but not rad), but most common reason is lack of gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had my aircon sorted under warranty at my local dealer. Because I've bought two clios off them they did it under warranty ('04 182) with no charges whatsoever. Excellent service and courtesy car provided. You've really got to push them, with your car being under warranty i'd kick up a fuss.

I had the evaporator changed and aircon regassed.

I'll get Mike to look at it first, if its not stone damaged then i'll take it to Renault for warraty, but i might just be a seal, we just don't know.
