car having a fit

Was driving round for a bit today as I was off work ill and it was a nice day. Anyway car was very hot due to weather and lots of traffic.

Pulled into tyre place to get a tyre replaced on one of my standard rims which was inside and nice and cool!

15 mins later I started the car up and it was reving on its own up to about 3k and down to 1k then back a few times then stalled. Started fine and did same so I held revs on at 3k for a few seconds and then it was fine since.

Not had any problems since but what the hell was it?

Me too, mine did this, renault replaced the idle control switch it does it every now and then, but not as much as it used to.
