Car heater will not turn off!

Just been out in my Cliosport 172 Mk 2. Put my fan on full blast to de-mist the windscreen and drove up to shop and back. When i got home and turned off the ignition the fan stayed on. Tried taking out the fuses but still kept working. After half an hour I decided to disconnect the battery then reconnect it, but fan is still working full blast. I jave now just disconnected the battery completely.
Any thoughts anyone?

Turning off the ignition should cut power to it, i believe. Odd that it stays on. An eletrical wiring issue i would suspect.

Common problem

resistor pack. under the scuttle panel left hand side in the heater box, has a plug to it with 5 wires i think. two 6mm bolts holding it in

Control pack is shot, wants changing reasonably sharpish too before it kills the heater fan.
