Car Key question

I've got a problem with my car key, the problem being it keeps getting stuck in the petrol cap, probably a bit bent, and it takes one hell of a pull too get it out, and it is now starting to damage my key.

So what I want to ask is, how much will it be to get a new key from renault? Or are there any other places that you can get them cut?

Also, will I be able to get a key without a fob? As it will only be used to undo the petrol cap.

Thanks.

best thing for you to do would be to buy a blank blade off ebay or renault ( about £10 i think off ebay ) have a normal key cutter copy your key onto the blade and just swap the ends around. you dont need to bother with a whole key dude.

Try squirting a lil bit of pen fluid / WD into the cap key hole.

I had this with mine over winter for some reason.
I removed the cap, squirted a lil bit in the rotated the key back and forth a good few times to the ends.

Remove gently and its perfect now.

You can have your key cut pretty much anywhere, altho remember it **wont start the car**

A new key, fob and programming are expensive.

Ah right, didn't realise that you could have a key cut anywhere.

Will try the WD40 first, but there is a key cutting place round the corner from me so might nip there and get him to copy one up for me. Like I said, I don't need it to start the car, just need it to open the cap.

Thanks lads.
