Just watched as my Valver disappeared into the distance in the hands of its new owner - bjfosteruk. God it looked and sounded good. Damn.

Never mind, that feeling pales into insignificance compared to the stress of today. The idea was to meet at 5pm after work, but then the starter motor gave up on the car! Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhh!!!! Bollox!!

Managed to jamilly start it and get a half day at work. Had a spare starter and the idea was to get it fitted, but all the garages were full. Never mind, I thought, I could leave the ignition on and explain the situation to bjfosteruk. But just as I parked up as I met him, I turned the sodding ignition off and it wouldnt start! He was very understanding and I knocked another £100 off for the fitting of the starter I had given him anyway. So a good end at least!

Now surfing around for a mint Williams... watch this space!

At least it went to a good home like my Valver did! Natalie bought mine and I was sad to see it go but was going to get a bike instead.

Im sitting tight with the money now and waiting to pounce on the first really good one I see. Ive got my Volvo S40 for daily use, although its the sort of car that totally lacks that petrol-pumping through the viens, induction howl in the ears feeling that the Valver gave.

Just got back now! traffic was an absolute nightmare!!

Ben H your a top gezzer and the car was just what i was looking for, after i sold the Williams 3 i missed it so much, so now im back!!

so what sort of willy you after? 1,2 or3? I would go for a willy 1 (as i did) because you know its gonna hold a bit more value due to that gold plate on the dash! Sorry all you willy 2 and 3 peeps, that was the deciding point for me when i brought mine!

Saying that there a a few mint examples on the site boards, Progect Maxos and sledge racers both look fantastic!

Also I have noticed a few willys 2 and 3 are starting to show their ages, rusty arches ect.

Raj - Im not too fussed on a Williams 1 as theyre Phase1 cars and I much prefer Phase2. Equally, Id prefer not to have a sunroof or ABS as that kind of spolis the idea of a rally homologation special, wich rules a Williams 3 out. That leaves the Williams 2.

But I will be buying on condition and so I think Ill be looking at mint examples of any which is in the condition I want, with the miles I want, at the price I can afford. I would easily consider the sort of car that Paula is selling - but I dont have her contact details!!

Both Sledge_racers and Projectmaxos Willy1s look very nice, but I dont want to mess them around as I can only see cars on the weekend and the next two weekends are booked up as I have a long distance girlfriend. She hated my 16V and will doubtless be highly unsympathetic to me waisting our weekends chasing Williams!!
