Car Pc Power Problem

i hope this is the right place to post this.
my car pc powers up and works fine ( with the engine off ) as soon as i turn the engine on then try turn the pc on it dont work ?? and i have to mis / re join the power lead
what could the problem be ?? could the power wire not be the right power for the pc

as per my reply to your previous thread, you need a component that is available my car pc makers, it protects the circuit during cranking, and it also provides power for a short period of time when the battery is pulled during cranking, i cnba to find out what it was called but google will find it for you. there are plenty are car pc sites and forums
