car running like s**t

  clio 1.2 mk2 phase 1
ok so ive posted a thread about this before but didnt get much help and the probs gettin worse now.

basically my cars running crap its started to cut out alot and when you try to start it again it take 5 + attempts there no certain time it cuts out (ie cold/hot)

cuts outs when

left ticking over
waiting at traffic lights
wont start when left for a short time (ie turn the engine off to nip into the shop wont start when you come back)
its even cut out whilst going around a bend

ive tried giving it a service( oil, oil filter and spark plugs) and also tried puttin some redex in the fuel in case it was just some crap that had been sucked through

the only other problem i can see is my exhaust is blowing where the cat meets the centre section. could this be whats causing the problem ???

any help would be great

Forget that question a quick google search answered it lol , I was thinking of getting the car plugged into a computer (I can't spell what it's called lol) but there's no engine management light on so would it still show fault codes

Possibly yes - the MIL being on is to inform you of a Level 1 or Level 2 fault... codes can still be logged even with the MIL being off.

Tried 2different fault code readers and both sat cannot connect . Could a faulty erg valve cause these probes I'm having

Clio II 1.2 16v's are filled with wiring issues the most common of which are searchable on here but that aside you should still be able to access the ECM fault codes with diagnostic kit.

Any idea what equipment was used?
