Ive pasted my thread from the V6 forum- Its may be some help on here- Although I need to check whether this is valid & still works-

Ok so your all pretty Pi$$ed at paying 440 sobs next year- However you can avoid paying this money until March 2010 by doing the following-:
The renewal price of £440 will come into effect on 01/04/09, this is obviously in time for to capture all registrations from the Month of March- so heres what you do-
*IF* you tax renewal is due for the end of this month then go to the post office & buy a new tax disk this week-- It will be valid from 01/03-
Buy for 12 months-
Your renewal will then be valid for 01/03/09- (29/02)
This is a month before the price hike- so you can purchase another 12 months at the reduced rate before the prices rise in April-
Similiarly, you do the same if your renewal is Sept- for Oct- Just pay for 6 months in sept & then you are ready to renew in 01/03/09-
This should save you 200 pounds minus one months tax @ current price-
