car won't start

yesterday was driving my car just metres from my house and it died after a light on the dash came on. it then wouldn't start again (starts then dies) with the light on the dash on. my dad's mate thinks its the driveshaft sensor. has anyone else had this problem and is it easily fixable?

4 years old. jus looking through manual and says its the engine immobiliser warning light. its come on before when driving and ive had to stop, retart the engine and its fine, but yesterday just stopped completely.

Sounds like the immobiliser's sticking, try using your spare key to see if it's a key issue first.

my dad's work mate has read the ecu on his computer and has found 2 faults. firstly there is one with the throttle, which he cannot find any problem with. the second is with the wrong air pressure going into the manifold, which he thinks is due to my induction kit. i am going to put the standard airbox back on tomorrow and try it. he cleared the fault codes and the engine now starts but the throttle doesn't feel right and the warning light is still on.

however, surely the induction kit should not affect air pressure going into the manifold, but if it is why is it on my car? there are thousands of cars out there with induction kits!

manifold pressure wont have anything to do with theinduction kit.

usually the wiring between the map sensor(manifold air pressur will be the fault) and the throttle chaffs on the inlet.
