Carbon door cards

Is there anyone selling Carbon Door cards and rear cards for the clio at the moment (other than streamline that want £400 for 4 flat bits of carbon LOL)?

There was another company doing them but they seem to have vanished

Get the oreca polycarbonate ones, not much difference in weight and alot cheaper, I will be doing this eventually :)

Carbon trim down south us where I used to get my bits from. They have now disappeared though.

Was about £100 for a pair of fronts, can't believe how much they've gone up, streamline price is f**king ridiculous!

I need a pair of front cards as well, but there's no bloody way i'm paying Streamlines prices. Considered making my own metal ones as the regular ebay hunt isn't turning much up.

I wonder if anyone has a set of streamline or performance-trim ones from before they went bankrupt that they could donate for a template

I'm sure I could find a carbon fibre company willing to cut us some out - and it sounds like we could get a bit of a group buy going

^^ There ya go - Jon_R you could get some stencils made and then we could post them off to someone
If the carbon fibre person is near'ish me I don't mind them using my car for a day to make some up and trial fit

Conlon, would you be happy to meet up one day and let me draw round a doorcard? I assume you'd have to take one off of the car for this to be possible!

I'm also assuming the drivers and passenger cards are identical (just reversed)?

Cheers

Hi all, if we had a template we could make up the flat door cards no problem at all, and very happy to do a group buy.

Or, if Conlon has photo we can just replicate them no probs.

Cheers
Hal

Let's get the ball rolling on this

If someone who already has some can lend us a front and back that would be awesome

If not I'll try to make some templates from my track car and get them sent over

I'd be happy to use my car as a trial too if we're having them made local'ish

I would definitely be up for a set of these if they can be done at a reasonable price.

What happened with this?

Does anyone have a template they could draw up in cad or by hand (basically a digital copy) they could send to a fellow Clio enthusiast down under in Aus? Pretty please?

I'm interested in both front and rear but mainly rears at the moment...

It's a shame your in Australia mate! I make these up out of foamalux for about £40 a set!! It would probably cost twice that to post them! Lol!

You got any pics of the ones you made mate? How do they fit/look.

Yeah got some pics somewhere. They're basically just a flat sheet that you attach to the door with panel fasteners or like I did, use riv-nuts and domed allen head screws.
They fit and look fine as far as I'm concerned and trust me, I am very particular about how things should look. They are fitted in a track car so it's more function over form though if you get me?

I'll find out the pics and upload them so you can see for yourself.

Yeah that's kind of what I'm after. Something just bolt on bolt off without damaging anything so can put back to standard at a later date if need be.

Are you re-producing some of these for others to buy then mate?

Would love to see some photos if you got a chance.

The door cards need the handle spacers if your retaining the steel of the door innards. My doors have had all that removed in a bid to save as much weight as possible.
The spacers come up for sale on here so it is do-able without cutting the guts out the doors.

Yeah I'll make up sets for anyone who wants them mate.

I'll get some pictures up later/tomorrow if your still interested.

I don't really understand the full extent as to what's needed to fit them. My brain isn't working yet. But I'd be very interested to see some pics please :) very interested to get some if there not too hard to fit.

They look good. Do you have to cut away the door insides for it to fit? I've never taken door cards off so have no idea how flat it is.

No mate you don't have to cut the metal innards of the door to fit them. Mine has no innards as I run with plastic windows, so all the winder mech is gone. Plus it free's up weight.
The door handles on mine are bonded in place as well.

If you run without the door handle spacers you can crack the handle where the screw secures it to the door.

The group buy on the carbon cards fell through because they were carbon skimmed and not full carbon. Even though the question had been asked about 50 times he neglected to mention the fibreglass aspect till people were literally about to pay.
