Car's Been Painted... Finally!

Finally got my car looking nearly finished, now that it's all back to one colour!


Massive thanks to Matt (Mx1_champ) for painting it for me, looks amazing once again. Would quite happily recommend him for any spraying of parts, colour coding etc...

Think he means the body work just above the back of the side skirt!

Looks a thousand times better than the chavvy state it was in when you bought it though!

The paint looks rough as hell in between the rub strip and the side skirt.

Still, it looks 1000 times better since he gave it TLC from the state it was in when he got it.

Have to agree. The line of the old skirt/Tiger Seal is still visible.

That repair looks a little rough??

Think it's just the angle of the picture, and reflection of the floor. Paints spot on, it's just the body line that doesn't match up. Not sure if thats found in all clios, or whether I pulled the line out when ripping the old side skirts off.

You sir, are too observant for your own good! Nah, spot on mate, lowered 30mm at the front, 15mm at the back and the exhaust...

Well... I had some issues with the standard Renault exhaust, in that it fell off. Soooo I bought a GDI decat which was welded to a magnex centre section, which was ideal to stop the centre section coming away from the cat again. This left me with a slight issue, in that the magnex centre section was too short to reach the standard back boxes.

So after I managed to get halfway to work one afternoon, the mount holding the centre section up, snapped, and the exhaust fell off again. Which meant I had to limp up to ATS, where they did a very bodged fix on it, by cutting the decat pipe and welding a tube in between it. Why they didn't just weld a bit onto the end of the centre section, I do not know. Which has meant that the middle scilencer no longer fits in the recess under the car, and knocks against the floor with every movement of the engine.

Thus explaining why I need a whole new exhaust system, and why the tail pipes stick out too much.

It's looking a lot lot better now, but I agree with the others about the repair. Imo it looks like it's got a groove in the bodywork, just above the passenger side side skirt.
Like you say though, it could just be the pics.

paint looks spot on. its all about reflections matey, look at the light on the rear boot and bumper, the shade is identical, its impossible for a car to look exactly the same colour at every angle, the light plays a big part, defining creases/lines and curves on a car. the skirt however, just looks like to gave it a quick wipe towards the end? just looks mucky underneath the door and clean afterwards...

lmao at the CS paintwork experts, until you see the car in the flesh you cant judge any paintjob.

When buying mine most of what i went to see looked good in pics but in the skin were shite paint repairs. The one i bought and own looked w**k in the pics different shades etc but to look at it looks fine, Its had a respray on a door but unless i told you you wouldnt know apart from the bit of OP on the B pillar which in the new year i'm going to remove. You can see in this pic under the light theres some trails from a buffer on the rear qtr and it was the same all down the other side (this was the same day i got it) a week later it was restored to how it should be
