Loked at this the other day Timmay and thought it was rather cheap.

As usual though, if you had the 9k, would you not rather a straight example? I think i would probaly be more inclined to for the pure reason of re-sale value?

Would also have to have pics of said damage cause i know how tempremental insurance companies can be when deciding whether its an economical repair

I've seen straight ones for not much more. IMO prices will be up slightly in 6 months time, especially if there's any sign of getting over this credit crunch thing. Prices dropped due to the TAX situation, which has changed again for now, plus they seem to fluctuate from winter to summer like convertibles.

Personally i'd not touch a cat D vee at all.

I wanted the very best available, imo I did that and then some, it's a shame that the market is fubar'd at the min so nothings shifting.
I think that prices will remain as they are for a bit. It is also a shame that folk are desperate to sell so taking less for them, thus forcing prices down.
I'd like to think that a decent mk1 is still worth £12,000 and an early mk2 about £15,000 sadly this isn't so anymore.
I don't believe that my car has lost over 2k in only a year. On the plus side my head still says that a decent example will fetch a bit more than a run of the mill one.

It's a vicious circle in a way. If people believe that prices will go down, they will wait to buy things; If people aren't currently buying things, prices will decrease until they do. It's a market confidence / demand thing.

Couldnt have said it better!

the bad ones seem to get punted about and that only makes them worse! A good mk1 with the dogs danglies of history with it imo is worth 12k all day!

If only m8, mines been up for sale for 4 months now, Mk1 in blue (so fairly rare), low mileage, FSH, all belts done etc, started at 13k now down to 10.5k. I wont let it go for less but I really don't think its going to sell!!

Hope the prices don't drop through the floor but i do think some people will get a bargin over the next 6 months!

Mines goin no where for less than 11k if I dont get that I guess it will be kippin in the garage! Might go and get some finance for an evo and leave the vee till it does start to go back up. No many red ones left with way under 30k on it!

valid point, now is a pisch time for selling cars, hopefully it will change in the future.

put it this way 1 of 25 is pretty rare. Plus there was only 256 mk1s as well. Doubt theres 225 still on the road with accidents and pisch.

id hang on to it. If you keep it mint itll be worth the 11k you talk about without too much hassle imo.
