Cat In a Bag

I was driving to work yesterday and saw a white plastic bag blowing about in the wind on my way to the M25. Now im not sure what it is with my car and plastic bags as this is the 2nd time this has happend to me..

Anyway - driving along and i see all the cars in front driving over it, watching the bag fly out from behind the cars, i run over it, look in my rearview mirror - nothing!! eyes back on the road, looks in the rear view mirror again - NOTHING! (hmm i thought)

Just as i pull up in the company car park i notice i nice smell of burning plastic, bent down to have a look - oh yes, a nice melted plastic bag dripping from the CAT !!! IT STINKS!!

Its happend before and last time i just left it, however this time it relly does smell bad.

Anyone had this happen to them before? any ideas how i should remove it other then getting the car jacked arming myself with a sharp blade!

I would think the only way to remove it would be to chisel it away.

leaving it alone might help eventually as the plastic would just carbonise over time...

Yes happened to me, as you said i jacked the car up, cut off the excess and let the rest burn away. Did stink though. thought id cooked the brakes!

Presumably this means that Renault choose not to fit heat shields over their cats. Nice one.

Dont park in any tallish grass then.
