Cause of uneven idle on RT

When running idle my clio seems a bit uneven, the noise it makes. the background ticking is fine but theres a whurring noise that seems to get quieter and louder in intervals, its not loud and doesnt seem to be a problem it just sounds a bit off

Anyone know of anything that makes it do this or does it just happen? Could it be the power steering stuff that making the noise?

Yeah it could be the powersteering belt going round or sumut else just spinning, mine does it aswell. Dont worry i ent.

Its not the power steering. Well it could be, but I doubt it. I dont have power steering and mine does it. Its probably just your auto-choke playing with the fuel pressure. Just watch the rev needle, it does move slightly.

does the rev needle go up an down ?

it could be caused by a dodgy idle motor.........which you can replace yourself and they cost £60

could also be coolant temp sensor, thats about £15.......

could be a few other things too, have you checked your plugs, leads, exhaust system for leaks........dizzi cap, rotar arm ?

havent checked any of them myself, dunno what my dads done though. ill get him to check it all. the rev needle does go up and down slightly when the noise is happening
