Cd multichanger, can't play Xmas CDs!

Only got the car a few months ago, (172) there's a cable under passenger seat, read up on this forum that it's for cd multichanger so bought unit off eBay for a few ££s, plugged it in and nothing, I've no tools to check if there's power, but just wondered what fuse I need to check??? it may be that the multichanger is fooked

Try ejecting the cassette, itll need power to do that, so would show power to the unit

Then toggle the source to the changer and should be away to go

Check its plugged in at the head unit end too

Yes I've tried ejecting cassette but nothing happens, I'll have to codge together a head unit removal tool and check that

It could be that the previous owner has bodged an AUX cable at some point which uses the cd changer connector
