cd player, ipod and radio display troubles

Could the dodgy connection where my steering wheel radio control plugs into the back of the radio also be affecting my lack of radio display and the intermittent playback of my ipod and cd player? REEAALLY BEGINNING TO CHEESE ME OFF.

Is it a standard renault unit?

Yeah it's a cabasse auditorium tuner list. Stalk only works when I remove and replace the plug in the radio then fails after a day or so along with display. When I remove the radio it's still in place but obviously not working. Very tiring

Could it be the Hu at fault rather than the cable?
