CD-Rs

could anyone recommend a Cd changer that plays Cdrs (the one in my mk1 172 doesnt read them) that is compatible with the existing Reno HU? Does the changer from a mk2 172 play cdrs? any ideas?

The CD changer in my MKII 172 plays them, I have 6 CD-Rs in there right now.

I thought they were the same unit ? Possibly not then.........

also can depend on the brand of cdrs ur using!
Or more correctly, the dye that is used in the CD-R, I use Ritek

so, more expensive (better quality) CD-Rs should work then? funny that. Ones i get from the "market"(ahem) work ok, ones that i compile myself using stuff i download off Kazaa dont work, is it just a case of buying better quality CD-Rs then?

Yep, thats a good point, if you dont finalize the CD-R you will still be able to read it on your writer and will appear to work correctly, but play it back in anything other than a writer and it wont work unless finalized.

If I burn mine high speed they cause problems!

(Just my 2p worth. Not saying I know anything on the subject)

You may be using cd-rws not cd-rs
You may not be burning Disc at once (DAO) or may be leaving the session open

Wierd that though

try and get hold of some verbatim Cd-rs
