central locking

  Renault Clio 1.2 mk2 ph1
lo all i got a clio 1.2 on a T plate, i think its got central locking cos of the following: there is the senser (i think) and my key has a button on witch lights up.

the only thing is the central locking never works when i press the button i know the battery in the key is ok cos the light lights up when i press the button also theres a button just above my gear nob and when i press it it locks all the doors (and boot) and if i press it again it unloacks everyhting.

any idears?

what distance are you trying to unlock/lock the car from? i also have a t reg clio like yours and you have to be pretty much beside the car for it to work

soz forgot that info lol im standing right beside the drivers door

it may be that its "lost" the configuration to your car computer. I believe there is a way to re sync the remote to your car, by holding in the central locking button in the car and the button on the key.

Somebody will confirm this, im sure.

Mine has done the same thing, i thought it was because the person before had let the batteries go flat, but they had the smallest amount of juice left in them if u cupped ur hand over the key and pressed the button u cld see a glimer! would be most helpful if some one does know how to re-sync the key to the car!

thats the way mate i pressed the button in my car and pressed the button on my key and now its working it locks everything and unlocks every thing thx mate

Hi I have the same problem just changed the batteries and tried the above method but still nothing?

Any more ideas?

u have to hold down the central locking button till it double locks basically then press the key 3 times. if that doesnt work then it needs more diag could be a key fault or the receiver

My ones just as strange too, worked fine for months then one day it just stopped.. figured it may need reprograming... but then! a few weeks later i was sitting by the car playing with my keys & heard the central locking, the whole thing worked for about a week before dieing again lol, reckon i could have a loose connection sum where or just a super french electrical system lol

Try this guide -

CLIO II, KANGOO & MASTER INFRA RED RESYNCHRONISING

1. Turn Ignition OFF.
2. Press the central door locking buttonin the car for more than 5 seconds.
· Note :the door should lock then unlock.
3. When this happens, 10 seconds is allowed and the immobiliser warning light should illuminate.
4. Point the 1st key at the receiver and press the button twice, the doors should then lock and unlock. Repeat this for other remotes as required.
5. Check that the remote control unlocks and locks the doors.

LAGUNA II & SAFRANE II INFRA RED RESYNCHRONISING

1. Turn Ignition OFF.
2. Press the central door locking button for more than 5 seconds.
· Note : the door should lock then unlock.
3. When this happens, 15 seconds is allowed and the immobiliser warning light illuminates.
4. Point the 1st key at the receiver and press the button once, the doors should lock and unlock.
5. Point the 2nd key (if programming a 2nd key) at the receiver and press the button once, the doors should lock and unlock.
6. Check that the remote control unlocks and locks the doors.

CLIO II, KANGOO & MASTER RF RESYNCHRONISING

1. Turn Ignition OFF.
2. Press the central door locking button for more than 5 seconds.
· Note : the door should lock then unlock.
3. When this happens, 10 seconds is allowed and the immobiliser warning light illuminates.
4. Press the remote control once, the doors should lock and unlock.
5. Repeat for second remote if required.
6. Check that the remote control unlocks and locks the doors.

LAGUNA II & SAFRANE II RF RESYNCHRONISING

1. Turn Ignition OFF.
2. Press the central door locking button for more than 5 seconds.
· Note : the door should lock then unlock.
3. When this happens, 15 seconds is allowed and the immobiliser warning light illuminates.
4. Press the remote control once, the doors should lock and unlock.
5. Press the 2nd remote control once (if programming a 2nd key), the doors should then lock and unlock.
6. Check that the remote control unlocks and locks the doors.

CLIO RE-SYNCHRONISING

1. Lock car manually
2. Unlock car manually
3. Insert key into ignition within 30 seconds.
4. Turn ignition and start vehicle.

MEGANE RF RESYNCHRONISING

Hold the remote control button down for longer than 10 seconds (until the red telltale light on the key extinguishes) then press it again 3 times.
Check that the doors lock and unlock correctly.

MEGANE WITH EARLY REMOTE (LED SWITCHES OFF WHEN HOLDING
BUTTON DEPRESSED)

1. Ignition ON
2. Press and hold the central locking button for 5 seconds
3. LED on the dash board will go off, come back on and begin to flash. The flashes correspond to the first digit of the 4 PIN security code - release the button when the first digit has been 'flashed' and then press the button again.
4. Wait for the second digit to be 'flashed' then release and re-press the button - continue until all digits have been entered.
5. If you have entered the code correctly the LED will then go out and the car can be started - to code the remote, switch off the ignition and press the central locking button again.
6. Press remote button 2 times within the immediate vicinity of the pick up (in the roof) On some vehicles you may need to switch the ignition back on to achieve this however.
