central locking

in my center console i have a button with a picture of a key on it. i presume it is to lock my doors from the inside but doesnt at the mo do anything but the light flashes. do they fit the button as standard and fit central locking as an extra or should i have central locking fitted?

Mine worked as standard.. the light flashing will be the immobiliser.

Mines a special edition Mk1 Phase3 tho so the central locking could have just been a feature.
How do you get into the car now? As standard, I used the fob and aimed it inside the car to unlock all the doors..

i have to use the door to unlock i dont even have a button on my key fob



I think mine is a paris edition i know i have imobiliser coz on dash board i have a little sign that goes out atfer about five seconds or so
