Centre box removal

Are there any benefits apart from the extra noise if the centre box on the exhaust is removed on a Clio 182 Cup?

Been offered it to be done for £80 and with funds tight for extras on her 182, is this worth doing?

It would sound stupidly loud...

And i think you would loose power, there would be less back pressure with a straight through pipe making the engine work harder to push the gases out?

Though correct me if i am wrong anybody?

Its actually for my missus car ya see and she wants to get a bit more of a growl from it but by removing that centre box she doesn't want it to be stupidly noisy.

She planned to keep the back box and cat in place, anyone done this?

Is the car going to benefit from having that removed? Is likely to be an MOT failure due to emissions/noise??

Bit less restriction bit more noise shouldn't fail MOT. Noise level are huge for MOT. Emmisions well only one way to find out shouldn't affect but then again exhaust alone shouldn't fail it and they have before now.
