Change gear apply pressure the high revs?

Basically recently ive had a slight problem. Ill change gear from say 2-3 release foot of clutch etc then begin to make progress and my cars revs will just shoot up! it does this in every gear accept from 1-2. does any one have any advice or sulition on whats going on or whatever.Any info would be great thanks.

Sounds like knackered clutch.

nope doesnt smell! i did read a few MOT's ago on the adivisory clutch is worn. just want to see if any1 knows the problem if not getting a new clutch is the best way to tackle it i guess.

my 1.2 clio done this deffo sounds like the clutch. mite be as simple as that or like mine it could be more, my gearbox oil was leaking on to my clutch wich made it slip
