****Changed my mind!****

Sorry guys.... After all the sh*ty problems I have had from my little 1.2 16v I have decided not to get the 172 now... Im going for a reliable Civic Type R...

integra is just as quick, looks better than a people carrier and handles unbelievably!! what more do u need? - why drive a souped up mpv?

ive had no problems with the relibility of my 172 FDSH run on SUL, regular oil changes, engines mint no other probs either, apart from some airbag light coming on for a while when new- something to do with seatbelts ?

You sure you will be able to handle such a big jump in the size difference, the CTR is like a mini bus - you could fit the 1.2 inside it!

its appears from reading posts on the honda R forums a while back that they arent without faults. Some being sent back etc. I heard they are built in UK - bound to be sketchy build qual.

I agree with BenJ get the ITR - looks better, goes better, handles better, sounds better, better seats (lovely red recaros! mmmm) can you tell i want one? ;)

Well its got a chopped roof so its not a MPV.... I want a bigger car anyway a clio is a little bit girly... Well thats what most of my mates say....

Well they dont make them new anymore do they? Plus its only .2 faster than the civic 0-60 and 0.1 faster 0-62 but the vtec on the civic is much more refined than the integra but yeah the integras r nice but only have 15s... u put 17s on it it will be slow as feck...

Have u driven both round a track and compaired laptimes? how the feck u know integra handle better?

i have video of older shape civic and integra type rs going round a track. the integra hadles far better. but the older civic had more mid grunt. maybe the old shape type r civic?

and i think they do still make integras

Hey I dont think they r girly just all my mates do... Then all I see is Girls driving small cars including clios... I have never seen a girl in a type r... good on her prob her boyfriends though....

she was like 30 something i dont know. ill take your mate out in my 190 bhp 172 mwhah then see them go white lol - deff no girls car.

sounds like stevo is more interested in what other people think than the drive.....do your mates also poke you and call you fartboy?

Who cares what others think.....they wont have time to look as you fly past.

I wouldnt put 17s on the ITR anyway......unless you really really want a silly looking bad handling car.

also, mk1 172......you can buy only a few aprts, some filters and some mediocre off the shelf untested suspension....the ITR......half of japan makes and develops race kit for it....not to mention you can get your air in teh engine bay! lol

whats all this girly business based on? Some old advert with nicole?
i see more women in CTRs than men round here
Exactly the same here - there are two reds, one black and three silver CTRs, and only the black is driven by an oldish guy, the rest by women - two silvers owned by ancient silver haired women.

So you buy a car based on what your mates say...thats just sad...whatever happened to buying something that YOU want?

Yeah I want a civic type r.... thats nothing to do with my mates... I dont want a 172 coz of the problems I have had with mine... I dont think renaults are man enough for my driving..

Robfenn its a i-VTEC i stands for intelligent... It gets to 90% of the maximum torque at 3000 rpm they have only just produced that engine for there new type rs.... trust me I have the catalog from honda and its from there words i said that!

Sorry my definintion of better is different, i think better sound, more fun.

Anyway, the CTR weighs well over 100kg more than a 172 which i thinks a bit of a joke, so for that reason alone i wouldnt get one. Its also tall, ugly and id expect the high centre of gravity would prove difficult on serious track driving.

Obviously its your choice at the end of the day so fairplay, and good luck.

-Rob

CoG aint that high though.....its not the breadvan its made out to be......but i would still get another car before it....e.g ITR!!!

It dont have a high centre of gravity.... Hang on just a minute Touring Cars?? or Clio Cup...... sorry but it is a serious track car and Honda offer mods so u can convert the road version to a race version.... The weight issue course it will be heavier its bigger... its a completly different car. U dont say oh i dont want an M3 because its heavier than a clio do u?

Well tell u the truth I keep changing my mind anyway.... But all I know is im not happy with renault ATM so I want to take my business elsewhere. I do quite like the CTR though.... Would take a CUP to keep up with it and its a bigger car... have mates comftable in the back etc... i dunno... shall i just save up and get a scooby P1

Get a civic type R... I rate them highly... looking like an mpv? cant see that myself.

If Id had the money I would have got one and would be presently ragging the arse of that quality Vtec motor right now.

Plus.. great seats... great looks.... quality gear stick position ( very rally sequential positioning)... and decently priced.

Go for it mate I doubt youll be disappointed.

I bought a CTR and couldnt get on with it for a while, but now i absolutely adore it.

driving to work is a blast.last week i had a Rover ZS behind me,well up for some fun, absolutely obliterated it down the highway, pull up @the roundabout and he catches up,bibs his horn, i look over and he is flashing his warrant card at me. well you can imagine the look of terror i gave him,he told me off and went on his way.its no very often i do that sort of thing, but i defo will not again.go the lanes way to work now.

Girly LMAO.... 3 friends of mine own CTRs.

All 3 are gay. 2 of them are extremely camp/girly.

According to them the CTR is a gay cult car now. Gets them to the shops quicker I guess.
