Ok thanks, like I say, have done the dog bone. Can anyone give me some brief instructions on where they are and how to do it, BTW am I right that there isn't a Haynes for the 172??
the nearside one is under the battery - take battery off jack the gearbox up on a block of wood to take the weight off the mount (not too much) then there are 5 13mm bolts attached to the body undo them , then there are 3 16mm bolts atached to the gearbox undo them - might have to move some pipes wiring out of the way etc and the whole mount is off change the rubber bit refitting is the reverse.
offside top mount - jack the engine up on a block of wood i do it on the sump but be careful - undo the 4 16mm bolts holding the mount to the body and the 3 16mm bolts holding to the engine and that mount will then be off. undo the large bolt in the centre of the mount and change the rubber bit and the metal and rubber stabilising bit , refi reverse ...... hope this helps
do you have the last mount too? the one on the bottom of the gearbox to the subframe?
Cheers Jon that's great, no I believe I've done the gearbox one, is that the dog bone? I started with that as it cured the knocking on my 16V, has just made things worse on the 172, dreadful grinding noise when pulling away quick. Want to change the others now as I can't drive the car "properly"!!!!! This will help, going to get the K-Tech up-grade pack. Any other tips??
