Changing an engine......

Can it be done through the top?

I mean can i just leave the box in an move it over when I want to drop the new engine in, instead of taking the subframe off an lifting it up into the bay?

Easier just to lift the box and engine out together, then split apart. No need to drop frame.

As said, engine and box out together, then you can chuck in a new clutch (As it will save you in the long run)

Sorry about the 2 posts my phone was having a moment.

I am new to the Mk2 an was told long ago that it was easier to take it out through the subframe but it appears not

Iv stripped the engine down an got a price up on parts,

Horning
An balanced crank
Skimmed head an flywheel
An seal an gasket kit
I'm looking at around £500

Are engine dynamics any good? As there local, an all I want is shells an bolts?
