Changing brightness on .avi ?

Is there any software that is easy to use which will let me permanently change the brightness of an .avi?

Yes.

I use Adobe Premier editing systems at my work, you can easily modify the video with it. Same goes for Adobe After Effects and most other video editing suites.

Sorry bud.. I use the above on a daily basis so havent needed to find free software. I would imagine a good hunt on google will find you some free stuff.
