Twist a quarter turn anti-clockwise to release the body of the adjuster from the headlamp. The rod will still be attached. You will then have enough space to look inside and see the rod with the ball on the end clipped into the reflector. push the rod up/down (can't remember which) and it will pop out.
Not sure that can be fixed without breaking the seal between the two halves of the unit as there is no access to the inner parts.
How broken is it? From what I can see it only adjusts the light pattern left to right so unless its completely broken so the reflector is just floating free i would leave it alone and fit as is. Once the light is fitted to the car you have no access to that adjuster anyway.
