Changing Rear Discs/Pads. Tips/Advice



I'm planning on changing my rear discs and pads today on my 182.
I'm planning on following Fubar's guide below.

This is the first time I've done rear discs. I've done the front a few weeks ago, and a couple of times on my non sport.

So I was just wondering, are there any tips not mentioned in the guide that people found useful?

For example, reading posts, I've read some people put locktight on the hub nut when doing it back up, is this necessary? Won't doing this make it harder if it needs doing in the future
And as for getting the old disc off, I've read once the nut is undone the disc can still be really hard to prise off, any tips for doing this without damaging anything?
Also, do you need to put copper grease on the rear of the pads?

Oh and I've got a torque wrench. I've taken note of the spacer bit you need to keep as well! Anything else?

I never used loctite on the nuts. It's a while since I did mine, but you usually peen(sp) the nut once its tight anyway.

I used a nylon faced hammer to get the old discs off, they were a little stuck.

Apart from that, it's rather simple dude.

Just have a look at the spring clips on the pads before you take them off, they can be a bugger if you haven't done them before.
 
Its where you hammer the end of the nut over. It's a little old fashioned but still gets done on stuff like driveshaft nuts and such like.

The hub nuts will stay on OK if you torque them up correctly. No need for copper grease either. You have everything else covered.

Can be a good opportunity to tidy up the callipers, whip them off and go over them with a wire grind wheel, check and clean the pistons etc.

And yep, copper grease should keep the brake squeal at bay :)
