- up on stands under the sills (not the beam!), high enough to allow the wheels to drop right down once dampers disconnected (don't have to take wheels off, but might help). ed. actually - you need to do that for the springs, not the dampers, so should be ok with stands either side of beam
- WD everything
- remove bottom bolts
- remove top nuts (under rubber cups in boot)
- take dampers off & make sure you've got the rubber bushes from under the wheel arches as well (can stick to the bodywork)
- put new dampers on; bushes both under wheel arch and in boot for the tops
- wire brush & copper grease bottom bolt - put that one in first but don't fully tighten it yet
- nuts on the top - don't compress bushes too much when tightening
- car off stands & on floor - tighten bottom bolts. this might not be necessary, as i don't think the bottom bushes are actually bonded to the damper, but may as well
