Changing the diff only.

whats the spanner rating on getting my diff changed, is it possible without removing the whole gearbox or not?

ideally it would just mean removing both drive shafts and knocking the old one out, but im guessing its not gonna be that easy?

Its part of the gearbox so gearbox out etc.

leave it to experts or you need to know what your doing I've a guide to stripping down the box if you want a read

well i have another gearbox, i just wondered if i could swop the diff without doing the whole box.

so if u bought say a LSD you would still need to take the box out, then strip it, then refit it.

As edde says you'd need box out and then split the box to get the diff out and the new one in, if you haven't done one before/know what your doing it'll be fun.

Although if you've got a spare box it'd be a good way to learn. Getting it apart is easy enough its getting it back together is more fun.
