Changing the sump.



  Clio 182 cup
When changing the sump is there any components that have to be moved to allow the sump to drop of or Is it clear to undo all the bolts and just take it off ??

Are the bolts on the top or the bottom of the sump ? Do I just undo the bolts either end of the subframe yer ? Sorry to ask such a noob question.

There horrible little torx bolts, and your better off using a 1/4" drive set as the ones at the gearbox side of the sump are recessed.

you can lower to subframe... do not need to remove completely

As said, the torque bolts on the sump are abit of a pain, try not to round them off ;)

sorry for bringing this back up, ive got my sump off but it wont come out due to the sub frame being in the way, but i dont know what to undo to lower the subframe, can some one please give me a tad advise on what to undo/remove to lower it please?

No need to touch the subframe at all,undo the drivers side engine mount and jack it up,or lift that side,it will come out.FACT.

too right im gonna have to go borrow the engine hoist from work now just to sort this bloody thing out, all coz of a sodding brick on the motor way, why do renaults have to be so complicated at everything!!!!!

Some of mine rounded off,real pain in the arse,had to weld some nuts on them and then use a normal socket.

i rounded one last night spent over an hour with a dremmal and about a hundred bits grinding the t**t off, would be the one in the most awkward place grrrrrr

did it by lifting the engine in the end, and it did work, my write a guide thread on here as no one ever seems to have a propa answer to how to do this job, and idiots like me need info on jobs like this
