Chassis/VIN numbers

Hi, can anyone tell me where the chassis number is on a Mk 2 172? Is it stamped on the sill under the rubber seal where you open the drivers door or elsewhere? Also... am I right in thinking theres no VIN plate riveted under the bonnet, and its a tamperproof sticker on the inside of the drivers door?

on the dashboard, look thru the n/s screen near the bottom corner, and on the baulkhead on the o/s (engine compartment). also on oval plate/sticker inside drivers door shut
