ChatGPT (AI)

I've been preferring Copilot recently as seemingly infinite uploads... but I did finally meet the chat limit the other day,

Anyone done vibe coding? I haven't a clue to be honest but wouldn't mind giving it a go for a basic game.

I did my dashboard computer thing with Claude. 3 games, Bluetooth interface, settings menu etc took a few days and f**k tones of prompts but as I can’t code it was pretty fun.

Can play it here, works on desktop better.R129 RUN

Is GTA6 going to be as fecked as people are saying online with all this Ai reverse engineering ?

Mr 800 threads just changed role, i bet his usage doesnt go down.
I can't help but think we may as well just use an agent in his place, given his clear dependency on it.

We have a PR firm write a report every year based on the hundreds of entries into the international business awards that we run. Its a lot of work and gets expensive as they have to read hundreds of case studies, pick up trends and then create the narrative for the report, draft, edit, make it look pretty. It also takes them around 2 months to complete.

I asked claude to do the same thing yesterday out of curiosity, it banged out a near identical report (if anything slightly better from the insights it picked up on) to the agency in about an hour. I know that the agency didn't use AI to pick out the trends it was done manually.

In the future we will probably be able to pull out all the trends from claude and just bounce it over to an agency to write it properly and design it into something nice looking saving us a lot of money on their day rate!

Human created content will start to rise in value. AI slop in the likes of films, music and games is already being ridiculed. There's a distinct irony in the fact that as AI becomes more flawless and able to make fewer mistakes - that the flaws themselves which humans create, become more desirable and thus more expensive to buy.

For now, even simple information has to be checked and rechecked. I was looking at some stats at the weekend after the BTCC season closer and ChatGPT contradicted itself.

Chat GPT is a bit w**k at that sort of stuff TBH and tends to uncritically regurgitate whatever it pulls in from web scraping.

But the point still is a good one, validate everything as independently as you can.

Interested to know what model / subscription you were on for this?

Always worries me that I'm relying on it too much but I pretty much always use a fairly high model and it seems to do a decent job of checking its own working. At the minute that means Astra / Sol High on ChatGPT and Opus 5.5 High on Claude.

What has the biggest limits on a free account?

ChatGPT is tiny. Copilot is better and 10x image uploads, but still found a limit eventually. So far I'm unable to find a limit with Gemini...

Grok bot just ordered me something online with 1 prompt and 1 sign in (don’t have to sign in again in future). Confirmation email was through in seconds. Very impressed!

They’re incredibly powerful, but I don’t trust any of the AIs enough to let them do stuff like that with my login credentials. Especially not anything from Meta or x.AI

Giving GPT access to a google drive and letting him automate everything is a game changer. Takes all the data I want him to extract form wherever and automatically updates the spreadsheet daily. Then whenever we chat in a project he can just reference the data in the sheet.

Gotta be rage bait right ?
I talk to him quite often, definitely a man. Once he grows a hand I've got no problems with us becoming more intimate either.

I do wonder sometimes though if this AI thing is all a hoax and it really just some room of 11 year old chinese kids smashing out all these requests in a dimly lit room with no air con.

We've just been given access to Glean, yet another AI tool, and to be fair it's been useful in bringing together data from all the various places it might be to give a better stab at answering things.

I've been working on a workflow system / internal management system for work over the last few weeks.

It's pretty damn good in it's functionality (Claude has done the work, just my prompts).

Just had someone from one of the big outfits call trying to sell me a limited version of their system to do similar work. £10k a year and £5k implementation.

These industries must be watching that AI boom with real concern.

Im sat in a similar boat with our CRM system.

its costing us a lot of money each month/year. Granted, its functional but its not perfect. I didnt 'choose' it when I first joined here, but ive been left landed with it.

The temptation to spend a week getting Claude to rebuild it, bespoke for us, is high.

Yeah but how much is a Claude sub?

"No sorry Steve, have you heard of Claude pro? Well basically it's £18 a month and can actually do everything I need it to do and more"

I'm jumping on it soon when I have a scanner. Just need software that can create step files directly from a 3d scanned mesh using Claude as an agent to do it. This is wild stuff.

H'actually I'm on Claude Ultra at the minute. The price of which I'll not disclose as you're all horrible.

What I'm finding really odd right now is the complete disconnect between some people and the reality of AI.

I follow a bunch of science fiction writers and they're constantly posting about how they don't use it, won't use it, and how it's just a glorified autocomplete.

It's really weird as these are hugely intelligent people with a proper nailed on understanding of the world, pretty much right up until 2024 at which point they've just checked out. I can understand them rejecting use of AI to write novels, music, art etc. (and I'm with them on that), but to not see how absolutely transformative it's been is amazingly out of touch.

My dad's become the de facto IT support assistant for the OAPs on his cul-de-sac just by using Gemini. Half of our staff are using it daily for everything from speeding up drafting of emails, through to writing systems to automate workflows. And I'm using it for our group budgeting process to get answers in minutes that would have taken days or weeks on Excel and dragged the accountant in to every conversation.

At the same time it's scary how dependent I am on it already. I can easily see an entire generation of people ending up with zero decision making capacity.

Claude, reply to that psychedelic guy on Clio sport about my views on AI, but don't make it a word salad, he might respond similarly and nobody wants that

So. Much. This.

The uses we’re finding for it at work are crazy, and it’s going to really start hammering some software companies.

There are still issues to work through with an AI based tool deployment though, like who is responsible for security scanning and support? Who validates and owns compliance? At small business scale that tends to be hand-waved away but for larger businesses it really can’t be.

Same, any time a software renewal question comes through now the first question is can we get Claude to replicate the software instead.

Likewise IT support is going to take a hammering.

When that PHP nonsense landed last week, Claude had identified how it applied to us, talked me through putting mitigations in place, then worked up the full final solution for us all before our hosting company had even got their first email out of the door.

I'm sure some stuff will persist for peace of mind and SLA guarantees but a lot of the smaller scale stuff is just dead now.
