cheap insurance for teen please!

does anyone know of a really good insurer who is cheap! last year in my first year i paid over 1500quid on a mk1 ph3 fully comp! i feel like i was bent over! does anyone have any suggestions!!!??? 19years old, 1 years no claims 1.2 clio! only third party fire and theft neccesary!

When i had my 1.2/1.4s I got good Quotes from Tescos.. (£500ish TTFT thats being female and with Pass +) It wasnt until i got my valver that i looked around performance insurers, and even now im only paying £775.

£1500 FC at 18 sounds liks a good price. My parents were paying almost that for me at 19 on an 1.4 escort 3rd party only with a restrictive milage policy.

Try Liverpool Victoria or Tesco they offere decient deals.

direct line seem to be neglected, 10% online discount plus a further 10% if you have another existing policy with them. also elephant seem pretty good. hope this helps.

thnks for your input guys da cheapest i found so far is norwich union! 479.99squidlies with only 120squidlies excess and thats with my alloys declared aswell!!! (only tpf+t) but still pretty good i fink! thats under a third or what im paying now! anyone know of a decent ice insurer??

I believe you can sort something out with HIC when you insure your car.

Best person to speak to would be Daz, Im sure hes got an agreed value on his ICE.

Aged 21 I paid £1500 TPFT on a Metro, 1.3, the cheapest I could find. And I have Pass Plus, and Advanced Driving.

Now aged 25 (although I do have 3 pts) with 7.5 years no claims, I pay over £500 full comp.

This is with CIS in my mums name with alloys and backbox decalired.

Tesco quoted me £1800 wiht alloys declaired in mums name.

Direct line wouldnt insure me wiht alloys, as a result i had a set of spanking new alloys ont eh can and couldnt drive it for a week.

All my m8s are with CIS, seems to be the cheapest for young drivers at the mo.

Yeh I agree. Im 19, been insured since August 03 with Liverpool Victoria insurance on a 52 reg clio 1.2 extreme and its just over £1500 fully comp.

The only trouble with these guys is that they dont take Pass Plus, but theyre still competitive.

Im 19 and am paying £1,400 fully comp for my 53-reg Dynamique 1.4 (declared list options worth extra £1500), that is with no NCB but 2.5 years road experience on motorbikes. Policy limited to 8,000 miles per year and includes European driving.

My mate is 22, Punto 1.2 Active Sport (8v), no NCB and pays £570 FC with business use and unlimited mileage with Kwik-Fit Insurance Services.

Yesterday I read an article in a newspaper, where many insurers are now refusing to take on boys under the age of 21 because they say that they are involved in, and cause the deaths and injuries of more people in road accidents than any other age group, yet they make up only a small percentage of the drivers.

Some quotes given to young drivers have been around two and three times the value of some cars, or no quotes at all.

My deepest sympathies mate. Thats shocking.

Im not trying to be nasty here but Im 25 and the insurance on my Mk2 Clio V6 is "Only" £1052 fully comp.

v6 and a 330cab bmw??? shocked is not the word!!! i got trouble insuring 1 car wit jus over 1litre total engine capacity! u got two cars with combined capacity of almost 6 litres! what am i doing wrong wit my life???



insurance is now settled chaps n chappets! thanx a lot for all your input! settles on norwich union direct! 480squidlies tpf+t with only 120quid excess and with all mods declared! cant really grumble at 42quid a month!

Im always pretty amazed at the prices that Admiral offer me.

When I had my 172 they beat every other insurer by hundreds. Ive been with them since I was learning to drive though. 8 years, I had a claim after 18 month when some knobber stole my car. Hence why Im down to 6 years.

PS: The 330 is going in part ex for the Clio.

ive heard Liverpool Victoria are good for teens...

as soon as you hit 21, phone greenlight, there quoting me £1037 for my car, everything declared, 1 yr NCB and 1 accident...

but as pointed out, insurance at that age aint cheap, especially if you are wanting to mod :S
