Cheap Mac Software?

Well after recently selling my laptop, I have taken the plunge and bought an iMac, however I need to find some software for it. Where is the cheapest for iWork etc?

open office is available for mac for free

Jigsaw had a 20% off iWork offer on a few weeks ago. Don't know if it's still running or not (probably not).
Personally though I wouldn't bother. Get OpenOffice, it's much better and IIRC it's compatible with iWork document formats anyway.

Is OpenOffice just a download? Had a play on iWork and I quite like it. Do I get discount as a student on software?
