Cheap Polishers

With all this talk about various car machine polishers - are there any out there that have been bought for a fraction of the cost of the onces by Meguiar / etc

And are they actually any good! :S
or are they as waste of time

The only thing that you will get is a Silverline polisher, about £35 off ebay.
Bare in mind it is a rotary though, which is not like the PC or UMD.

For that UMD you would need a transformer etc... which would bump the cost up.
The sealy rotarty is far too fast.

thanks for your help!! looks like the one by Meguiar for 150.00 which is 240v is a good buy then for 150.00!

I suppose it is a good buy, but remeber you need to add the cost of pads and polish on top of that aswell.

Yeah i know!! for that kind of money i could hire an amazing blonde for the day! (or give the gf 50.00) buy some srp and have about 100.00 in my pocket!! that sound money more well spent!

I had the same reservations as you about the silverline one being rotary, but i decided to go for it anyway, and i have to say, ive used it a few times now on both my car and my friends, and been very very impressed with the results!

I will more than likely always stick with the old faithful Porter cable, always been a good friend to me lol
