Cheap track car - 1.8vvc metro

I seen 1.6 one go, stripped with a lightened fly and it went like a train so that must really shift

uber cool to IMO

These are awesome.

Can't help feel that that ones been bodged though. No mention of Brake/suspension upgrades and a pretty poor advert! Not something you'd expect from an enthusiast.

Its a GTI, brakes are about as good as you can get without bigger wheels.

Mine had same engine, ITB'S, 192bhp, and the GTI brakes were good enough for a car that weighs around 700kg.

Cheap price,

Theres another one on pistonheads for £700 as well.

Its originally a 1.1 knightsbridge, proper sleeper lol

lol i've always wondered why it didn't have one :o:o

Spends the test of the night looking through it.

there was one at ISTS this year on track, bonnet flies off, they black flag him, he pulls in, rips bonnet off and goes back out...

went really well too

Does the tomcat have the 143bhp version of the VVC like the Rover Vi & BRM or the 160bhp version like the MG ZR & TF. One with the newer VVC lump out of the MGs would be a better buy IMO.

I had a 1999 S plate Coupe and that had the 160 VVC Engine.

iirc, the earlier ones were 140 ish??

early ones are 147bhp later ones are 160

Can easily get the early ones to 160 though

I saw this for sale!!!!!!!

Holy s**t!!!

Yeh, it was certantly interesting!

I remember when i first got it, we were hooning it up the bypass, and i was on the limiter, my mate was like "Change gear then", im like "Im in 5th"
LOL

It was unreal, and handled really well aswell! Proper weapon.

People looked over, saw 2 seats, some clocks for the speedo, no dash, no interior, and a white cage, was mint, was nothing to it. Had to have the cage to stop it from bending really :)

Probably about 300bhp per tonne
